TERRY COLLEGE MBA RUDY WEBER GIVEN STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARD BY ASSOCIATION FOR CORPORATE GROWTH
ATHENS, Ga. — Rudy Weber, a second-year student in the full-time MBA program of the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, was recently recognized by the Atlanta chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth with its inaugural student leadership award.
Weber, who will graduate in May with a Master of Business Administration degree, received his award and a $3,000 scholarship during ceremonies held October 20 in Atlanta.
To qualify for the scholarship, students must have successfully completed 12 hours of study by the fall semester, be a continuing MBA student enrolled in at least six hours, maintain a 3.5 grade point average, or better, have no less than three years' work experience, and play an active leadership role in the MBA student community or the Atlanta business community.
Three other student winners from the MBA programs at Emory University, Georgia Tech and Georgia State University also received the same recognition.
In addition to the scholarships, each student also received a complimentary one-year membership in the Atlanta ACG chapter for himself and a faculty member. Weber selected Terry finance professor Jim Linck to receive the faculty membership.
Award winners also get the opportunity to attend the association's annual winter "Capital Connection" conference, attended by representatives from private equity groups across the country.
