BUSINESS WEEK RANKS UGA'S TERRY COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AMONG TOP 50
ATHENS, Ga. — The Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia continues to be recognized for the quality of its MBA program. The Terry MBA is ranked among the top 50 programs named to BusinessWeek's biennial survey of the best business schools announced Thursday, October 7.
BusinessWeek surveyed 94 programs, ranking the top 30 numerically. The Terry MBA program appears in the ranking's "Next 20" (31-50) of U.S. business schools, which are listed alphabetically. Earlier this year, U.S. News and World Report ranked the Terry College 42nd nationally among the best graduate business programs and 29th among the best undergraduate programs.
"Public business schools are our true peers and competitors. We're pleased to once again be ranked among the top 20 publics by BusinessWeek," said Dean P. George Benson. "And now, with our new MBA curriculum focused on personal leadership development, we will be even more attractive to top students and the corporate recruiters who hire them."
BusinessWeek, which has been evaluating business schools since 1988, determines its ranking of the top business schools by surveys of MBA graduates and corporate recruiters.
The magazine sent questionnaires to 18,052 MBAs of the Class of 2004 at 94 schools in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. BusinessWeek also sent surveys to 456 companies that hire MBAs, of which 247 responded. The magazine also calculated each school's intellectual capital rating, rating schools on their faculties' public reach.
"The Best B-Schools" is the cover story of the October 18 issue of BusinessWeek, which is now available online at www.businessweek.com and on newsstands beginning October 11. The magazine's Web site also offers data on admissions, financial aid, curriculum, job placement and salaries.
