UGA'S TERRY COLLEGE OF BUSINESS HONORS DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AT ANNUAL AWARDS LUNCHEON IN ATLANTA

ATHENS, Ga. — A U.S. senator, two accomplished businessmen and the University of Georgia's incoming athletic director were honored with alumni awards from the Terry College of Business on Thursday, May 20, in Atlanta.

Three Terry College graduates — U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, Atlanta real estate developer Gene Anderson and Augusta CPA Abram Serotta — were honored for their career achievements and community leadership with the college's Distinguished Alumni Award. Damon Evans, a 1992 graduate who next month assumes the job of UGA athletic director, was presented the Outstanding Young Alumni Award.

A fifth alumnus, Lindsey Hopkins III of Atlanta, was honored posthumously by the college's Alumni Board with the Alumni Service Award. Hopkins is the first recipient of the award, which will bear his name. Hopkins was a former Alumni Board president, its longest serving board member and one of the college's most loyal supporters. He died on May 8 of lung disease. The new award will be given at the recommendation of the dean to alumni who demonstrate through dedicated service and exceptional leadership their commitment to furthering the reputation of the Terry College of Business and its graduates.

The Terry College has been presenting its alumni awards since 1964. This year's awards were presented at the college's annual luncheon, held at Maggiano's restaurant in Buckhead.
