INTRODUCING THE TERADATA UNIVERSITY NETWORK, A PREMIER RESOURCE FOR DATA WAREHOUSING, DSS/BI, AND DATABASE FACULTY
ATHENS, Ga. — Teradata, a division of NCR, announces the introduction of the Teradata University Network, developed by Hugh Watson, a management information systems professor at the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business. The Teradata University Network (www.teradatauniversitynetwork.com) is a free learning portal designed to help information systems faculty to teach, learn about, and connect with others in the fields of data warehousing, DSS/BI and database.
Its primary purpose is to improve university instruction by providing access to learning materials developed by leaders in the field. The portal's content includes course syllabi; PowerPoint presentations; cases, projects, and assignments; book chapters and articles; the Teradata library; Web-based courses; and links to related sites.
A related site for students (www.teradatastudentnetwork.com) contains a subset of the aforementioned materials, including cases, projects, and assignments; book chapters and articles; the Teradata library; and links to related sites.
Watson, who serves as Senior Director of the Teradata University Network, said, "I believe that the Teradata University Network will be a great resource for faculty who teach courses in data warehousing, DSS/BI and database. It will be especially helpful for faculty who are asked to teach a course for the first time and have many competing demands on their time. Even for faculty who have taught a course before, they will be able to draw upon what other faculty have done. I'm also excited about it being an international resource. It will help educators around the world teach state-of-the-art courses."
Watson holds a C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry Chair of Business Administration in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia and is an internationally recognized leader in data warehousing and DSS/BI.
Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation, sponsors the Teradata University network. To learn more about Teradata, go to http://www.Teradata.com.
