ATHENS, Ga. — U.S. Rep. Johnny Isakson will deliver the commencement address to graduates of the master of business administration degree program at the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, his alma mater.
The MBA Commencement ceremony will be held in Hodgson Hall of the Performing Arts Center at 7:30 pm on Friday, May 10. More than 100 members of the Class of 2002 will be recognized.
Isakson was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1999 after serving seven terms in the Georgia House of Representatives and two terms in the Georgia Senate. He was the Republican nominee for governor of Georgia in 1990 and chairman of the Georgia Board of Education in 1996.
After receiving his bachelor's degree from the Terry College in 1966, Isakson joined Northside Realty and was named company president in 1979. During his 22 years as president, he helped to build Northside Realty into the 37th largest residential brokerage company in America.
Isakson currently serves on the House Transportation Committee and the Committee on Education and the Workforce. He is vice chairman of the Subcommittee on 21st Century Competitiveness.
