'TERRY TUNES' LUNCHTIME CONCERTS SET FOR FIVE FRIDAYS IN THE FALL AT HERTY FIELD
ATHENS, Ga. — "Terry Tunes," a lunchtime concert series sponsored by the Terry College of Business, opens its third season at the University of Georgia's Herty Field this Friday, September 28.
The free concerts, offered from noon until 1 pm on selected Fridays every spring and fall, feature a variety of performers from the university's School of Music.
"Thanks to the cooperation between schools, we are happy to present a talented selection of performers," said Philip Jameson, coordinator of student performances and director of the UGA Trombone Choir. "We hope people can come to enjoy the music and the autumn weather."
The "Terry Tunes" performances scheduled for the fall are:
- The Kevin Hyde Jazz Trio — September 28
- The UGA Steel Drum Band — October 5
- The Bulldog Brass Quintet — October 12
- The UGA Salsa Band — October 19
- The UGA Trombone Choir — November 2
"For the fall series, which begins our third season of Terry Tunes, we are pleased to continue to offer a variety of sounds, from brass to percussion to salsa," said Marie Garrison, director of alumni relations at the Terry College. "Grab a friend, grab a lunch, and come on over!"
Herty Field is located between Moore College and the law school on the university's North Campus near downtown. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be canceled.
