LUNCHTIME MUSIC SERIES AT UGA'S HERTY FIELD SET FOR ALL FOUR FRIDAYS IN APRIL
ATHENS, Ga. — "Terry Tunes," a brown-bag-lunch concert series featuring a variety of performances by musicians from the University of Georgia School of Music, will take place at Herty Field for the next four Fridays, starting April 7.
The Terry College of Business sponsors the lunchtime concerts scheduled for 12 pm to 1 pm The free concerts are open to the university and Athens community.
"We received such positive responses to the first 'Terry Tunes' concerts held last fall that we decided to make it a twice-annual event in the spring and fall," said Marie Garrison, director of alumni relations at the Terry College of Business. "We hope everyone will bring their lunch and spend an hour with us."
Philip Jameson, director of UGA's trombone choir, is coordinating the student performers. "Herty Field has been returned back to its original state as a field where athletics and music are played; we hope people will come by and stay as long as they can," he said.
"Terry Tunes" is intended to spotlight UGA's musical talent and bring people together in a relaxing, social environment during the lunch hour.
Herty Field is located between Moore College and the law school on the university's North Campus near downtown. In case of rain, the concert will be canceled.
