TERRY THIRD THURDAY ATLANTA SPEAKER SERIES PRESENTS JEFF SONNENFELD OF THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE JULY 20

ATHENS, Ga. — Jeffrey A. Sonnenfeld, chairman and president of the Chief Executive Leadership Institute, will be the featured speaker at this month's "Terry Third Thursday" program in Atlanta on July 20.

Sponsored by the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business at the UGA Alumni Club in the Atlanta Financial Center, the lecture series features prominent executives and distinguished speakers at a breakfast meeting on the third Thursday of the month. Sonnenfeld's talk is titled, "The Defeat of Disappointment vs. Disappointment of Defeat."

Sonnenfeld established the Chief Executive Leadership Institute in 1998, a non-profit organization that focuses on the advancement of management education through scholarly research and peer-driven educational programs. He is also an adjunct professor at Yale University's School of Management. Previously, he was a professor for eight years at the Goizueta Business School at Emory University, where he founded the Center for Leadership and Career Studies. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Harvard University, where he later served as a professor from 1980 to 1989 in the business school.

Sonnenfeld has published five books and numerous articles in the areas of career management, executive training and development, and the management of corporate social performance. His book, The Hero's Farewell: What Happens When CEOs Retire, was designated as "the standout new management book of the year" in 1988 by Business Week magazine, and it earned the executive search community's "Golden Baton Award."

The "Terry Third Thursday" program begins at 7 a.m. Cost is $30, including breakfast. Reservations are required. For more information go to www.terry.uga.edu/ttt or call 706-583-0397.
