TERRY COLLEGE OF BUSINESS TOURS STATE WITH PROGRAM ON GEORGIA'S ECONOMIC OUTLOOK FOR 2001

ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia Economic Outlook luncheon series, sponsored by the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, will again tour the state during December and January.

This annual series of economic forecasts, now in its 18th year, attracts about 3,000 of Georgia's business and governmental leaders to luncheons in nine cities. The series kicks off December 6 in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center and stops in Albany (December 12), Thomasville (December 13), Columbus (January 12), Augusta (January 19), Swainsboro (January 23), Savannah (January 25), Brunswick (January 26) and Macon (January 31).

Statewide sponsors of the program are the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Atlanta Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Black Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Economic Developers Association, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Trend magazine, and the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism.

In each city on the tour, local sponsors include the chamber of commerce, economic development commissions and authorities, area newspapers, regional development commissions, UGA Business Outreach Services and Small Business Development Centers, local colleges, universities and technical institutes.

The forecasts include predictions on how the national and state economies will perform in 2001. Economic projections also extend into real estate, agriculture, manufacturing, retail, transportation, communications, financial services, public utilities, tourism and international trade.

All who attend receive two accompanying publications: the Georgia Economic Outlook 2001 booklet and six issues of the research journal Georgia Business and Economic Conditions during the next year.

Registration costs $50 person or $395 for a table of eight. To register or for more information, go to the Terry College Office of Executive Programs' Web site at http://executive.terry.uga.edu/ or call 706-542-1964.
