MBA Program

  • In Bloomberg Businessweek’s 2011 ranking of Executive MBA programs, the Terry College is ranked 22nd in the world and 18th in the United States. Among public business schools, Terry is ranked 6th nationally and is the top program in Georgia. Furthermore, the Terry EMBA ranked 15th in the U.S. and 17th in the world in the Businessweek graduate poll, which factors in teaching quality, career services, curriculum and other aspects of the experience.
  • The Terry Executive MBA program is ranked 34th nationally in a global survey published by the Financial Times. Among public business schools, the Terry EMBA is ranked 17th. The average salary reported by graduates three years after completing the program was 42% percent greater than pre-MBA salaries. The Terry EMBA program rated 25th among U.S. business schools for a measure called “aims achieved”, which quantifies the extent to which EMBA graduates reported fulfilling their goals for completing an MBA degree.
  • The Terry College’s full-time MBA program is ranked 52nd nationally and 22nd among public business schools by Bloomberg BusinessWeek.
  • The Terry College’s MBA program ranked 47th in the United States and 18th among public business schools in the U.S. in the eleventh annual survey produced by The Economist (2012). The Terry College ranked 98th in the new global ranking of the top 100 MBA programs. The survey is based on a school’s ability to deliver the most important elements that MBA candidates look for when pursuing their degrees.
  • Forbes magazine ranked the Terry MBA 42nd among the top U.S. business schools for return on investment (2011). Among public business schools, the Terry MBA ranked 20th. Forbes based the ranking on the rate of return for the graduates of the Class of 2006. Forbes compared their reported earnings during their first five years after graduating to their “opportunity costs,” (defined as two years of forgone wages, plus the cost of tuition and fees). Terry MBA graduates from 2006 reported a median, pre-MBA salary of $49,000 and a post-MBA salary for 2010 of $120,000. Five years after graduating, the typical Terry MBA graduate was $60,000 ahead, according to Forbes’ calculation. And class of 2006 alumni had recouped all their opportunity costs in less than 3.6 years, on average.

Undergraduate Program

  • U.S. News & World Report ranked the Terry College’s undergraduate program 31st overall and 10th among public business schools (2013). Of the more than 2,000 U.S. business schools, fewer than 500 have achieved full accreditation and are eligible to be ranked by U.S. News. The ranking was based on a U.S. News survey of business school deans and senior faculty at accredited programs, who were asked to rate the quality of all undergraduate business programs with which they were familiar.
  • BusinessWeek ranked the Terry College’s bachelor’s program 44th and 19th among public business schools in its annual ranking of the “Best Undergraduate B-Schools” (2013). Terry ranked 13th overall in student satisfaction and 39th in the employer survey ranking.”

Risk Management and Insurance

  • U.S. News & World Report ranked the undergraduate insurance program 2nd in the nation in its latest survey of the best risk management/insurance programs (2013). The “business specialty” rankings in U.S. News are based on reputational ratings by business school deans and senior faculty from the schools surveyed. The schools receiving the most votes in a specialty category are ranked.
  • Risk Management magazine ranked the insurance program 1st overall in its latest review (2012). The 10 business schools that were rated had the most risk management graduates in the 2011–12 school year.

Real Estate

  • U.S. News & World Report ranked the undergraduate program in real estate 4th in the nation in its most recent survey of the best real estate programs (2013). The “business specialty” rankings in U.S. News are based on reputational ratings by business school deans and senior faculty from the schools surveyed. The schools receiving the most votes in a specialty category are ranked.

Management Information Systems

  • The MIS Department was ranked 10th in a survey of the best undergraduate business programs for information systems by U.S. News & World Report (2013). The “business specialty” rankings in U.S. News are based on reputational ratings by business school deans and senior faculty from the schools surveyed. The schools receiving the most votes in a specialty category are ranked.
  • U.S. News & World Report also ranked the graduate program in MIS 14th nationally in its latest survey of the best information systems specialties (2011). The “business specialty” rankings in U.S. News are based on reputational ratings by business school deans and directors of accredited master’s programs from the schools surveyed. The schools receiving the most votes in a given category are ranked.

Accounting

  • The bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programs in the Tull School of Accounting were all ranked by Public Accounting Report’s 2010 Survey of Accounting Professors. Tull’s bachelor’s was ranked 6th (3rd among public programs) and its master’s program ranked 11th (8th among public programs). The school’s PhD program was rated 16th (9th among public programs) in the teaching ranking and 16th (16th among public programs) in the research ranking.
  • U.S. News & World Report ranked the Tull School of Accounting’s undergraduate program 16th nationally in a reputational survey of business program specialties (2013). The “business specialty” rankings in U.S. News are based on reputational ratings by business school deans and senior faculty from the schools surveyed. The schools receiving the most votes in a specialty category are ranked.

Finance

  • The Finance Department was ranked 26th in a survey of the best undergraduate business programs for management by U.S. News & World Report (2013). The “business specialty” rankings in U.S. News are based on reputational ratings by business school deans and senior faculty from the schools surveyed. The schools receiving the most votes in a specialty category are ranked.
  • A 2002 ranking of research productivity in finance journals places the Terry College’s Finance Department 16th among U.S. public business schools and 37th overall among business schools globally. The Arizona State University study ranked finance departments by the number of publications in the top four journals in finance between 1991 and 2001.

Economics

  • The Economics Department ranked 2nd out of 69 Southern colleges and universities in terms of research productivity. The study’s findings, published in the 2001 edition of Applied Economics Letters, were based on an examination of the total output of each school’s economics faculty from 1982 to 1997.
