Economics professor David Mustard is wrapping up a five-year project where earned a $225K grant to study Tort Litigation in Georgia for the Georgia Civil Justice Foundation.

Ian Schmutte
Economics professor Ian Schmutte will begin a project in 2012 where he has received a $50K grant from the National Science Foundation to begin a study entitled, “Network Structure of U.S. Matched Employer Employee Data: Implications for Labor Market Analysis.” He recently began another study entitled, “Use of Network Structure of Job Mobility to Improve Labor Market Analysis.” He received $90K in funding from the NSLF for this project.

John Turner presented “Too Clever By Half: Can Recognizing the Availability of a New Option Result in a Lower Payoff?” at the Southern Economic Association Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Ga. last November.

Marie Mitchell
Management professor Marie Mitchell presented “The Productivity Process: Research Tips and Strategies From Productive Junior Faculty,” at the Academy of Management Conference. She was also appointed associate editor of the Social Issues of Management Division at the conference. Mitchell also presented two papers at the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Conference in Chicago, IL: “An Investigation of Why Supervisors Support or Abuse Subordinates” and “Consequences of Negative Reciprocity in Supervisor-Subordinate Relationships.”

Real Estate professor Richard Martin is doing research for the New Jersey Association of Realtors on the impact of migration patterns on the New Jersey housing markets, and immigration and the New Jersey housing market.
