The link to Georgia is so beneficial that many companies highlight the connection even when they could be considered international. Delta Air Lines is one such example, said Sundar Bharadwaj, Coca-Cola Company Chair of Marketing at the Terry College.
It’s a Georgia brand because of the success of the airline and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Bharadwaj said.
“I think it’s because plenty of people have flown through the airport,” he said, meaning that association sticks in customers’ minds.
