Dr. Robert P. Bostrom was a Professor in the Management Information Systems Department for over 20 years. The last 15 years he was the L. Edmund Rast Professor of Business. He retired in August 2010 after decades of selfless dedication to lifelong learning and teaching, stewardship and service, and mentoring and facilitating students and professional development for hundreds of students and a multitude of academics, practitioners, and executives. Dr. Bostrom was instrumental in the development of a freestanding MIS department at the Terry College of Business and in pioneering innovative curriculum breakthroughs for the MIS Department. As Professor Emeritus, Bob Bostrom continues to be a major contributor to the MIS program and a mentor to many students, practitioners and academics.

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the MIS Department, his former doctoral students and colleagues agreed to create the Robert P. Bostrom Endowment to establish a scholarship for MIS majors that encourages academic excellence and the pursuit of learning, leadership, and service. This Endowment will directly benefit MIS students.

The goal is to raise $50,000, and we are off to a good start with two pledges totaling $13,000. We encourage you to support the Robert P. Bostrom Endowment by making a gift to the MIS department fund indicating you wish to support this scholarship.
