Fall 2011

The Fall MIS Advisory Board meeting was held at the Terry Executive Education Center in Atlanta. The focus of the meeting was answering the question, “I wish that I knew … when I was in college.” Mark Huber and the student representatives on the board facilitated a nominal group session to address the question.

The top rated response was “people skills are as important as technical skills,” followed by “find a mentor early.” The board members then discussed how to best share these insights with students and to have students gain the specific skills. A couple of projects that the students on the Board are undertaking relate specifically to this—a mentoring program and a business etiquette workshop for our students.

The spring board meeting will be held in Athens. If you are interested in becoming involved with the board, contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Follow this link to learn more about the board.
