Sherwood Dodge, President & CEO, GE Equity speaks at Terry Third Thursday

Sherwood Dodge is the business leader of GE Capital Americas, Equity. GE Equity has been an active mid market minority investor for 15 years and leverages GE’s deal flow, industry expertise, operating talent and global reach. Dodge also heads the team that is responsible for acquiring and divesting businesses and portfolios for GE Capital Americas.

Dodge began his finance career at Chemical Bank in Corporate Finance. He joined GE Capital in 1988 making leveraged loans. From 1995 to 1998, Sherwood was President of GE Capital Thailand. During his three years in Asia he bought and built businesses providing auto leasing, sales finance, equipment finance and credit cards.

From 1998 to 1999, Dodge headed the international operations of GE Mortgage Services and was responsible for managing and growing the mortgage insurance and mortgage lending operations of GE Capital outside the US.

He joined GE Equity in London in 1999 as the Managing Director of GE Equity Europe. During his seven years in Europe, the European business made investments in more than 50 companies in 15 countries. Since 2005 Dodge has served in several capacities in GE Equity in the U.S. and was made the CEO of GE Capital Americas, Equity in 2008 and the business development leader of GE Capital, Americas in August 2010.

Dodge grew up in Asia, currently resides in Fairfield, CT and has a degree in Political Science from Denison University.
