Harold Bevis is vice president of Public Affairs for Delta Air Lines at its world headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
An Atlanta native, Bevis joined the airline in 1965 as an Avionics Technician after serving four years in the United States Air Force. After transferring to the Marketing Division and being elevated to numerous jobs of increased responsibility he was named Vice President-Public Affairs in 1989.
Bevis is a current member of the Board of Directors for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Clayton Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Allies; and serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Delta Heritage Museum, Board Member of the Metropolitan Atlanta Aero Club, Advisory Council for The Atlanta Committee for Progress, and Advisory Board for The Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.
Bevis is a former board member for the Georgia Department of Economic Development, appointed by Governor Zell Miller. He is past Chairman of the Public Affairs Committee of the Airlines for America. He served as a member of the Hartsfield Master Plan Coordinating Committee and served on the Project Advisory Committee for the Georgia Statewide Aviation System Plan. He is also a past president of the Clayton County Municipal Association.
From 1976 through 1987, Bevis was mayor of Lake City, Georgia. He holds an Associates of Arts Degree from Clayton State College and University and a Bachelors of Business Administration from Georgia State University.
