Winburn Stewart Jr., known to all as ‘Brother’, is one of Middle Georgia’s most accomplished business executives and one of it most devoted community leaders. He is president and chief executive officer of the Macon-based Bibb Distributing Company, and he serves on a number of advisory boards: Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia, Macon Boys Club, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, United Way, Macon-Bibb County Chamber of Commerce, and the Museum of Aviation at Robins Air Force Base.
His dedication to these efforts is exceeded only by his dedication to the University of Georgia and to the Terry College of Business. Stewart joined the Terry Alumni Board in 2001 and co-chaired the first gala/golf event with fellow board member Joe Terrell. He also chaired the Terry Campaign Steering Committee during the UGA archway to Excellence Campaign. He has served on the Board of Overseers and currently serves on Dean Robert Sumichrast’s advisory council.
Stewart has two children, both of whom are alumni of the Terry College, and three grandchildren. Daughter, Carolyn Stewart Morgan (BBA ’02), who resides in Athens with her husband, Chris, is a special events coordinator with Athens Country Club. They have one son, Henry. Stewart’s son Win (BBA ’03) works with the Washington Property Company in Denver, Colo. Win and wife, Morgan, are the parents of a son, Wes, and a daughter, Hadley.
