The initial placement of PhDs is an important measure of the health of any graduate program. Overall, our PhD program has fared very well, even at times when the academic job market was more challenging. Indeed, although the past few years have been subjected to steep job cutbacks and hiring freezes nationwide, our recent graduates have found full-time jobs as tenure-track assistant professors at many prestigious universities, as show in the list below:
