PhD Admissions/Application Process
Application Deadline: December 31, 2011
Step 1: Graduate School Online Application Materials
Online Application
- Visit The University of Georgia Graduate School online application and create an account to read the admissions policies and procedures.
- Login and complete the online application to the Graduate School.
Because some funding/assistantship decisions at the university level are made in January, your application file should be 100% complete by the end of the calendar year (December 31) to be given full consideration for those funding sources. Applications received after that date will be given consideration for other funding sources but note that we typically make our final accept/not accept decisions by the end of March.
Letters of Recommendation
As part of the online application step mentioned above, you will need to submit three letters of recommendation. Your recommenders must use the online recommendation form. You should have available the contact information (including the email addresses) of your recommendation writers when you complete the online application.
Application Fee
- Domestic Applicants: $75 for one major, $115 for two majors, or $145 for three majors.
- International Applicants: $100 for one major, $140 for two majors, or $170 for three majors.
Note: Reduced application fee of $25 is available to former UGA graduate students who are applying for new admission or readmission to enroll within four semesters of their last semester of UGA graduate enrollment. The application processing fee is non-refundable and is collected to cover the cost of processing the admissions application.
