Lessons in Leadership is an optional course for Leadership Scholars. It is a unique class meant to cover current leadership issues facing corporations and government. Pat Pittard, Terry College Distinguished Executive-in-Residence, is the instructor for the class. Mr. Pittard is the former CEO of Heidrick and Struggles, a company that places CEOs and other management into organizations worldwide.

To facilitate the discussions, Mr. Pittard invites a wide variety of corporate and government leaders to be guest speakers and address the class, take questions, and have discussions on current leadership issues. Additionally, mid-class receptions are used for students to spend more casual time with the guest speakers.

Students have the opportunity to examine multiple theories and ideas of leadership in order to develop insights for their own personal leadership development. The class is open to Leadership Scholars, MBA, Law, and Honors students. Students in the Honors program will want to register for 7500 and submit the graduate course application available from the Honors Office.
