Each year the Leadership Research Consortium names two undergraduate students as Leadership Research Scholars. Each student receives an award of $1,000 and $500 for expenses associated with conducting their leadership research projects. All Terry College students who are rising juniors or seniors are eligible to apply. In addition, all Leadership Scholar Students and all Leadership Certificate Students, independent of their home college, are also eligible to apply.
We encourage students to consider leadership research questions from a wide variety of disciplines. The main criteria for selection is the feasibility and quality of the research project and the student's overall academic record at the University of Georgia.
Each student should identify a faculty member who is willing to sponsor and supervise the research project. The student should provide the following:
- A 3-page summary of the proposed project
- A 1-page resume
- A letter of support and commitment from the faculty sponsor
Recipients are required to submit a 15-page paper summarizing their research projects and findings at the end of the semester in which the research project was completed. Depending upon the student's and professor's commitments, this project may also form the basis of an independent study project.
Projects for the academic year 2004-2005 have been decided and two Leadership Research Scholars were awarded May of 2004. Currently no awards have been given for the academic year 2005-2006.
