The LRC provides funding for consulting/applied research projects addressing topics of interested identified by our Corporate Partners. The following steps are followed to ensure that applied, high-impact projects are funded:
- Corporate partners identify problems and propose topics of interest to their companies
- The list of topics is distributed to Terry College of Business faculty who then develop proposals in their areas of expertise that address partner issues
- Full professors from the Terry College of Business evaluate and fund projects that provide the greatest value to our partners
- Partners are provided the opportunity to participate in funded projects, but incur no additional fees for participating
- Terry faculty conduct projects at partner firms
- Reports detailing the results of the projects and recommendations are distributed to all partner firms (names of participating firms are kept confidential)
- On-site presentations of the project results are provided, if desired by a partner
For approved research projects, the LRC provides faculty financial support for summer salary support and/or expenses. The total amount of funding available for the summer of 2005 was $60,000.
Proposals from faculty were received during the first quarter of 2005 and current projects have been awarded for the year.
