My ILA

The ILA provides support for several graduate programs within the Terry College of Business: the Executive MBA, the full-time MBA, and the customized executive MBA with IBM. These support services include consulting on leadership curriculum design and execution, providing executive coaches, providing support for leadership activities, and designing and selecting leadership assessments.

The Executive MBA

Executive MBALeadership forms the foundation and the focus of the Terry College Executive MBA Program. The ILA assists in the design and implementation of the leadership curriculum in the Executive MBA. An integral part of the Executive MBA program includes two week-long leadership residencies in which critical leadership competencies are taught as well as a leadership course that spans 6 months of readings and discussion. Additionally, the ILA assists with professional workshops on team building.

The ILA also provides executive coaches for each of the participants in the Executive MBA program. Participants take the ILA designed 360° assessment tool of critical leadership competencies and are provided with a full evaluation of their current leadership style and potential. Participants then interact one-on-one for a 9-month period with their personal leadership coach who helps each participant develop and implement an individualized action plan for improving and broadening his/her leadership capability.

The Terry MBA

The Terry MBAILA administrators are currently working with the program directors of the full-time MBA as well as the customized MBA program for IBM to design and implement changes to the curriculum to include leadership development activities and courses for these graduate students. Leadership is becoming the foundation for both programs and the ILA is helping create a unique and cutting-edge program to make the Terry MBA first in its class. MBA students are also invited to take ILAD 7500, Lessons in Leadership, with the permission of the MBA program director.
