Undergraduate Curriculum

The core of ILA undergraduate curriculum is a set of three required courses that include personal assessments, the study of leadership paradigms, and the application of leadership scholarship to the understanding of self and organizational effectiveness. Note: Students who participate in UGA's Honors Program receive honors credit for ILAD courses.
- ILAD 4100 Leadership and Personal Development (Fall)
Examines leadership theories and offers in-depth assessment of skills, personality, attitudes and behaviors to increase self-awareness of leadership competencies. (Three credits) - ILAD 5000 Personal Career Management (Fall)
Offers training in job search skills (resume writing, interviewing skills, networking and negotiation) and career planning. (One credit) - ILAD 5100 Organizational Leadership (Fall [Year two for LLSP], three credits)
Examines leadership in organizational settings through the framework of stewardship and service to others in organizational life. (Prerequisite, ILAD 4100)
Beyond the core courses, ILA offers two electives:
- ILAD 4990 Leadership in the Global Marketplace (Maymester, three cedits)
Offered in conjunction with ILA's Tanzania study abroad program, this course explores current global leadership issues and the activities of international business organizations in Africa. (Three credits) - ILAD 5500/7500 Lessons in Leadership (Fall, three credits)
Led by Pat Pittard, Terry College Distinguished Executive-in-Residence and former CEO of Heidrick and Struggles, this course examines current leadership issues facing corporations and government. Open to Leadership Scholars, MBA, Law, and Honors students, a wide variety of executive level corporate and government leaders serve as guest speakers to discuss on current leadership issues.
