Strategic Goals

The Institute for Leadership Advancement is proud of all we have accomplished; however our expectations for the future are even higher. We intend to continue to create and promote cutting-edge knowledge about leadership and use this knowledge to develop leaders who enhance the performance of their organizations and communities. ILA hopes to make great strides in the area of leadership in the coming years and feel it is important to share our goals for the future.

The Envisioned Future of ILA

10 Years from now, ILA will:

  • be known as a model for undergraduate leadership development.
  • be a resource for graduate leadership development.
  • be internationally known as a high quality leadership research institute.
  • be a place that corporations and executives turn to for consultation on leadership issues, development, and programs.
  • have strong corporate-academic partnerships throughout all of the programs of ILA.
  • have a strong impact on the community through the programs and activities of the ILA.

The operational goals that will make the vision become reality include:

1. Continue to create innovative pedagogy for our undergraduate leadership programs.
2. As appropriate, facilitate the design of leadership activities within graduate programs.
3. Facilitate distinguished research and scholarship.
4. Deliver innovative executive leadership activities.
5. Develop strong internal and external partnerships to deliver ILA programs.
6. Expand the ILA corporate partner program.
7. Develop a corporate relations program.
8. Develop a community service program.
9. Continue to acquire private funding to fully implement and sustain the 6 ILA programs.
10. Continuously improve the leadership programs offered within the ILA.
11. Create and execute a strategic marketing and communications plan.
