Risk Management and Insurance Resume Book Fall 2009 Deadline for submission: Friday, August 28, 2009
Resume books containing the resumes of more than 100 graduating seniors are mailed twice a year (September and February), free of charge, to over 900 businesses throughout the United States. The deadline for students to submit a resume for the next edition is posted on the news and events page.
The Risk Management and Insurance Program and the Insurance Society sponsor this resume book which provides students the opportunity to post their resumes on the Internet and to have their resumes included in the employer mailing. In order to post your resume on the Risk Management and Insurance web page and be included in the resume book mailing, you must be a Risk Management and Insurance major and a member of the Insurance Society. MBA students in the RMI sequence should consult with their instructor for details.
The Fall 2009 Resume Book is open to students who will graduate Fall 2009 and Spring 2010. If you wish to have your resume included in the Fall 2009 Risk Management and Insurance Resume Book and included in the online resume book, you need to follow the Resume Book Instructions below.
Help with Your Resume from the UGA Career Center
Students should have their resume critiqued by the UGA Career Center staff prior to submitting it to the RMI Program. Here are some ways to get your resume critiqued during August 2009:
First, look over resume samples and suggestions found on the Career Center website.
Once you have a written resume, bring a *PRINTED* version of your resume to one of the following locations to go over it with a Career Consultant. Your resume MUST be reviewed prior to being published in your Resume Book.
- 1. Stop by the Terry Career Consultant Satellite Hours @ the MLC directly across from Jittery Joe’s TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, and THURSDAYS from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.s
- Tracey Dowling, the Risk Management and Insurance and Real Estate Career Consultant, is on duty on TUESDAYS.
- 2. Attend our *SPECIAL RESUME BOOK WALK-IN HOURS* on: *August 26th and August 27th from 8 am- 5 pm in the Career Center (2nd Floor, Clark Howell Hall). All Terry College Career Consultants available to critique your resume.
- 3. To schedule an appointment to meet with a Career Consultant, simply call the Career Center at 706-542-3375 and the front desk receptionist will schedule an appointment at a time convenient for you.
Submit Your Resume to the RMI Program
Email your resume as an attachment in Microsoft Word (.doc) format. For your convenience, there is no requirement as to the layout of your resume. However, they should be no longer than one page in length. Moreover, the department reserves the right to contact the resume submitter in the event the resume does not meet professional standards.
