Bobby Bierley is a 3rd year Ph.D. student. Prior to entering the program, Bobby obtained his BSBA (Summa Cum Laude) from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Post that he worked for IMA Financial Group, Inc. and McGriff, Seibels & Williams, Inc. for 5 years in the energy insurance brokerage industry. Bobby began his career in insurance in 1995 as a personal lines insurance agent for New York Life Insurance Company. Bobby is a two time Spencer Scholar and a member of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, the American Risk and Insurance Association, and the Southern Risk and Insurance Association. Bobby's specific area of research is catastrophe securitization.

Leon ( Yilin ) Chen is a 4th year RMI PhD student. Leon earned his BBA in finance from Shanghai Jiaotong University. He also obtained his MBA from University of Notre Dame and MSIS from Baylor University. Prior to entering the PhD program, Leon also worked in the banking and financial services industry for more than three years. Leon is currently a member of the American Risk and Insurance Association, and the Southern Risk and Insurance Association.

Steve Miller is a 3rd year PhD student. Prior to entering the program, Steve consulted for Marsh, Inc. and Aon. Steve earned his BBAs in finance and risk management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Steve is a member of the American Risk and Insurance Association, the Southern Risk and Insurance Association and holds CPCU and ARM designations.
