The University of Georgia is pleased to invite your firm to participate in our 32nd Annual Risk & Insurance Careers Day to be held at the Athens Classic Center. This event provides an opportunity for employers to meet and interview many highly qualified students seeking employment within the insurance, risk management, and employee benefits communities. As you may be aware, the University of Georgia’s undergraduate program in risk and insurance is the largest in the country. This year, I expect approximately 120 seniors to actively participate in our Careers Day program. We also have 15 to 20 MBA students who will graduate next May, and a number of juniors and seniors who are seeking internships.

The Careers Day program is scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, 2009, with interview dates on February 4-13. We will also welcome employers throughout the spring semester for both full-time and summer internship interviews. Enclosed is a detailed fact sheet that should answer most questions you may have about our Risk & Insurance Careers Day.

Please find enclosed a Risk & Insurance Careers Day Registration Form that should be returned by Friday, November 14, 2008. The same form is also available online. The form can be printed out and returned to the address listed below.

Receipt of this form and your check will reserve your place for the Careers Day information displays that will take place on February 3, 2009 at the Athens Classic Center in downtown Athens.

If you are interested in conducting interviews, on-campus interview spaces will be available through the Career Center. Our students will be registering for interviews using DAWGlink which is the Career Center’s online job posting, resume referral, and on-campus interview scheduling system. To schedule interview dates, please request your interview room reservations online as quickly as possible to reserve interview space and to assure that your company’s job listings can be posted on DAWGlink. On-campus interview space is limited and interview rooms will be assigned on a “first come” basis. If you have questions regarding conducting interviews at the Career Center, please email Debi Grayson.

Since a number of our recruiters will be attending from outside Georgia, we strongly encourage those of you from the Atlanta area to consider participating in the information display period on February 3 and then returning to campus on Friday, February 6 or the following week to conduct your interviews. If you are primarily interested in summer internship candidates, later in February and early in March may be the best interview times.
