2009 UGA Alumna of the Year
Holly Meidl
Managing Director
Marsh USA
Current Responsibilities
Holly Meidl is the Marsh National Practice Leader for Healthcare as well as a Client Executive for select clients in the US. As practice leader, she is responsible for directing 550 Marsh colleagues who provide daily service to over 1900 healthcare clients. Her main focus is to help our clients identify the key industry issues they face, then work with practice colleagues to develop innovative risk and clinical solutions to address those risks. In addition to her direct client work, Holly is responsible for establishing client focused servicing protocols and developing meaningful benchmarking reports for healthcare clients to reduce their total cost of risk and improve patient safety.
Experience
Holly has 20 years of brokerage experience working with large global clients on alternative risk solutions including captives, loss portfolio transfers, spreadloss, and integrated risk programs for property and casualty exposures.
In 2003, Holly was asked to lead the Chicago Healthcare Practice during the difficult medical malpractice crisis in Cook County, Illinois. During that time, she helped clients navigate the difficult environment by establishing segregated cell captives, moving to high increased self funding and setting up physician channeling programs.
In 2006 Holly was asked to lead the Healthcare practice for the South Zone and then in 2007, she was named National Healthcare Practice Leader. She is often sought out for commentary in national periodicals on changing risks in healthcare as well as speaking at various conferences and seminars across the US.
