Undergraduate Major

Visit the Terry College undergraduate admissions site for Terry College admissions information. - I am an international business co-major. How do I get advised?
Advising appointments are available after the first week of the semester. This is for students to be advised for registration the following semester. To schedule an appointment, use the Franklin College Student Advising and Registration Assistant (Sara) and sign up for an appointment with your primary advisor. International business students will have information sessions throughout the semester to see how the IB major fits in as a co-major. If you wish to meet individually with the IB advisor, you can arrange an appointment through email by contacting Sally Vandiver. Departmental advisors are as follows:

- I am not a student at the University of Georgia, but am interested in international business studies. How can I set up an appointment to speak with someone?
You can email the international business major advisor if you would like to set up an appointment. If you have general admissions questions, call the Terry College undergraduate office at 706-542-5725. - How do I figure my major GPA?
You would average the seven major classes. You would give each A 12 points, B 9 points, C 6 points. D's and F's do not count toward major coursework. You would divide the number of points by the number of hours. If you had 3 A's and 4 B's, your major GPA would be 3.43. For figuring your GPA under the + - grading system, contact Sally Vandiver. You must have a 2.0 in all major classes (C- doesn't count). Your DARS check sheet has your major average on it as well. - Is there a language requirement?
Yes, international business is the only major in the Terry College that has a language requirement. Each student majoring in international business must choose a language and take courses through the conversation level in that language. - How long has international business been a major in the Terry College?
International business has been a major in some form since 1971, when there was a major in the business school called "international trade." - How many students are in the international business major?

Study Abroad
- I am not in the international business co-major. Who can I talk to about studying abroad?
You can either set up an appointment with a study abroad advisor in the UGA Office of International Education or, if you are interested only in Terry College programs, you can set up an appointment with an International Business Programs staff person. For an overview of current programs with business courses, see the international business study abroad and exchange programs information. - How do I get information about study abroad programs?
If students wish to apply to a study abroad program, they must contact the program director or administrative office, or go to the program web site for details. Information on the programs with a Terry College affiliation, as well as links to other UGA international education opportunities, are available on the international business study abroad and exchange programs information.
To participate in an exchange program, not to be confused with study abroad, contact the UGA Office of International Education (OIE). Students who participate in a UGA exchange program, directly enroll in courses offered by foreign institutions, or participate in a study abroad or exchange program affiliated with another US institution will need to complete a Credit Approval Form to be sure the credit will transfer-in correctly.
