The conference is designed for CEO’s, senior management, and directors of banks and BHC’s, as well as managers and officers of institutions that work closely with the banking and financial services community. The goal of the conference is to learn from fellow bank executives, bank directors and leading service providers about the critical issues faced by leaders as they make decisions regarding whether to sell the bank, buy another bank, or hold on as an independent entity.
Managing Through Tough Times: Implications of Adverse Market Conditions
The recent volatility in credit and mortgage markets has sent shock waves throughout the financial system. Community banks have not been immune from these events, as local housing markets and real estate lending have been both a partial cause and have been affected by the market volatility. How much damage will be done to the banking system, especially among those institutions with a high concentration of real estate lending of various types? What kinds of regulatory and legislative responses might the banking industry see as a result? What are the key issues that face individual banks, and how should the management team and directors manage and govern their way through this difficult situation?
