The Terry Leadership Speaker Series presented by the Institute for Leadership Advancement brings well-known leaders from a variety of organizations to the Terry College of Business and the University of Georgia. In these student-oriented forums, leaders are asked to discuss their unique leadership styles and experiences.
This year's Mason Lecture is being presented by United States Senators Mark Warner (Virginia) and Saxby Chambliss (Georgia).
About the Speakers
Mark Warner was elected to the U.S. Senate in November 2008, and serves on the Senate Banking, Budget, Commerce and Intelligence committees. After almost four years in the Senate, Warner has established himself as a national leader in efforts to find bipartisan consensus to reduce the federal debt, and has been a champion for military men and women and their families. Warner also is a leader in Congressional efforts to promote private-sector innovation and to help our nation’s small businesses and start-up companies succeed.
On Dec. 2, 2008, Saxby Chambliss was elected to serve a second term in the U.S. Senate. Georgia Trend’s 2009 Georgian of the Year, Chambliss is a member of the Armed Services Committee; the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry; the Rules Committee; the Special Committee on Aging; and serves as the vice chairman of the Select Committee on Intelligence.
