Laura Zimmermann is an assistant professor in the Department of International Affairs and the Department of Economics at the University of Georgia. Her research interests are in the areas of economic development and political economy with a focus on South Asia. Prior to joining the faculty at SPIA in August 2014, Dr. Zimmermann received her PhD in economics from the University of Michigan (2014), an MA in economics from the University of Michigan (2010), and a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) from the University of Oxford (2008).

Hayley Johnson is a fourth year Management Major at the University of Georgia. She began her career with Target when she completed the Executive Internship in stores last August, 2014. Hayley is currently the Campus Liaison for Target at the University of Georgia. Her role includes educating students on campus about Target's excellent career and internship opportunities as well as sharing her personal story. Starting July 2015, Hayley will be working for Target full time as an Executive Team Leader in Stores.

Jackie Cannizzo, the Executive Director for the JCI Foundation, will be speaking on achieving greatness through leadership and sport. The JCI Foundation is an organization focused on promoting women's leadership in business, often through athletics. It strives to reach collegiate women in order to connect them with successful professional women to mentor and advise them through college and beyond. They use the experiences of fundraisers and leadership conferences to better understand the needs of young women in college as they look forward to their futures. She will be sharing info about how young women pursuing careers in business can benefit from education and mentorship of successful female professionals. Come meet Jackie and hear her WISE words!

Dr. Hoyt will be the speaker at IB Society L&L. Robert E. Hoyt is the Dudley L. Moore, Jr. Chair and Professor of Risk Management and Insurance in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. He teaches corporate risk management and enterprise risk management and serves as the Department Head for Insurance, Legal Studies, and Real Estate. His research interests are focused in the areas of corporate hedging, enterprise risk management, catastrophe risk management, insurer operations, the economics of insurance fraud, liability system costs, and insurer insolvency. Interestingly enough, Dr. Hoyt is a tuba player, played in the Cornhusker Marching Band, and was President of the Classic City Band. Not surprisingly, his many trips to Germany have given him the opportunity to hear some great tuba players. He earned a minor in German, studied at a Goethe Institute in southern Germany on a DAAD scholarship, and completed a year of study at the University of Cologne on an ITT International Fellowship.

Rick Martin- B.A. in Biology, University of Texas at Austin M.B.A. in International Business, University of South Carolina International Trade Head will present.
Rick has over 25 years experience in international business in both the public and private sectors. As Regional Director for a food processing equipment manufacturer, he established and developed distribution networks in Latin America and the Asia/Pacific region. Most of his time was spent actually visiting markets in these two regions and attending trade shows in Europe. He served as Assistant Director for International Trade with the Georgia Department of Economic Development. As an international trade consultant with the University of Georgia’s International Trade Center, Rick provides one-on–one trade consulting services to Georgia companies. In this role, he also develops export education programs for Georgia’s business community.

Charles B. Knapp, President Emeritus of the University of Georgia, served as interim Dean of the Terry College of Business from 2013-14. Director of the Executive Doctorate of Education Program at the Institute for Higher Education, he also serves on the Board of Directors for Aflac, Inc., and as Chairman of the Georgia Charter Schools Commission. Knapp is an economist and educator and has previously held positions as President of the Aspen Institute, Executive Vice President of Tulane University, and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor in the Carter Administration. He received a B.S from Iowa State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Karl Ryker is a VP for International Finance and Accounting for UPS International Small Package and Global Forwarding. He is responsible for planning, costing systems and support, and international accounting for the international business units that generate over $16B in revenues. After graduating with a BSBA in Finance, he accepted a position in St. Louis working in the accounting office. This was the first of five re-locations for Karl and his family. After 20 years working for UPS' domestic operations, he accepted a position in UPS Supply Chains Solutions responsible for Latin America and the southern border operations with Mexico. He traveled throughout Mexico, Central America and South America working to integrate acquisitions and to improve accounting processes, while growing the international business. Karl’s has earned a BSBA in Finance, an MBA with a focus in Finance and successfully passed the CPA examination.

The speaker will be Dr. Boudreau. Dr. Marie-Claude Boudreau is an Associate Professor of MIS at the University of Georgia. Her current research focuses on creating sustainable business practices. Dr. Boudreau has authored articles published in both academic journals (e.g., Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, and Organization Science) and practitioner journals (e.g., MISQ Executive, The Academy of Management Executive, and Cutter Benchmark Review). Her teaching interests include data management, integrated software packages, globalization of IS and qualitative research. She was a visiting professor at l’Université Jean Moulin, in Lyon (France) and Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia). Dr. Boudreau received a PhD in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University, a Diplôme d’Enseignement Supérieur Spécialisé from l’École Supérieure des Affaires de Grenoble (France) and an MBA from l’Université Laval in Québec (Canada).
