This month’s topic on the Qualifying Investor Tax Credit should be relevant to startups that may want to help their investors take advantage of this credit or investors looking to use it in a deal. The Qualifying Investor Tax Credit, or “Angel Investment Credit,” is designed to incentivize investors to fund early-stage businesses in Georgia. This year, the Georgia General Assembly extended the credit through 2017. This discussion will cover the details of the tax credit, its value to both businesses and their investors, and how to get certified and claim credits.
