Employer Information Session: Patterson Real Estate Advisory

    • Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 4:30pm5:30pm

Patterson Real Estate Advisory Group: Patterson is a commercial real estate capital intermediary and advisory company formed by Lance Patterson in 2010. We work with developers and owners of all property types (office, multi family, hotels, retail) to secure financing (debt, equity and subordinate debt) for their developments, acquisitions and refinancings, as well as advise companies on their real estate needs. Advising could include anything from strategy to selling their asset. We have completed over 100 transactions and placed almost $1 billion in capital since our inception. Most of our transactions are in the Southeast, but we will go where the transactions take us. It is important to note that Patterson is a boutique real estate investment bank, with currently 8 employees and offices in Atlanta and Charleston. Internship: Similar responsibilities and requirements to the Analyst position above, however we realize they will have less experience. Prefer rising seniors so that we could have a chance to hire them for the next year. Someone who knows they are interested in real estate and want to learn more about the business. The position will likely be very research oriented with the person collecting market data, calling brokers, and doing write ups. They will gain modeling experience and general deal experience. Would like someone who is available to work full time during the summer, who intends to use this as the first step in a potential career. By the end of the summer, the intern will have a very good understanding of all areas in real estate finance and how they may want to proceed after graduation.

Terry Talks with Brian Satisky, Principal, SteelMart Inc.

    • Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 5:30pm6:00pm

Join us for a roundtable discussion with Brian Satisky about his most successful entrepreneurial startup, SteelMart Inc. With a forklift and a torch, Paul Carling began selling steel in 1992 from a yard in Norcross, Georgia. He had no office, no warehouse, no employees, only a dream. In 1996, Paul’s college roommate and closest friend, Brian Satisky joined Paul on his journey to success. While Paul made deliveries in a beat up truck, Brian stayed on the yard, cutting steel with an old torch and loading customers with an even older forklift. In 1997, Paul and Brian hired their first employee, someone to work in the yard to allow Brian time to make cold calls to drum up more business. They continued hiring employees to join their team, bought new equipment and moved into a warehouse.

In 2004, SteelMart opened a second location in Gainesville, Georgia. As business continued to grow, Brian and Paul began building a bigger facility. In 2006, construction was completed on a new 20,000 square foot service center in Doraville, Georgia. Over the next six years, SteelMart’s business boomed and they outgrew their warehouse in Doraville. In 2012, SteelMart purchased a 60,000 square foot state of the art service center in Tucker, Georgia. With a team of over 70 employees and two warehouses, Paul and Brian stay true to the roots of the company, never forgetting what SteelMart came from. Be sure to check out this Atlanta Business Chronicle article about SteelMart Inc.

Dress is business casual. Food will be provided for registered guests.

    Employer Info Session: Fisher Investments

    • Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 6:30pm7:30pm

Fisher Investments is a registered investment advisor for high net worth individuals and institutions world-wide. We currently have about $60 billion in assets under management, and we want to bring that up to $200 billion in the next 10 years. We are looking for motivated seniors from all majors to help us reach our goal. Fisher Investments will be on the UGA campus for the Spring Career Fair, and we will be hosting an information session on the evening of January 28th at 6:30pm in Sanford Hall, room 314. Go DAWGS!

Each rotation will include area-specific performance goals and development opportunities. In every rotation, analysts will be tasked with performing complex analyses to optimize business processes, increase productivity, mitigate risks and/or maximize company revenue. For example, analysts may be responsible for designing and implementing “statistical process control” based reviews of critical business processes or be part of a team responsible for creating and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate company performance. Regardless of the individual rotation objectives, we expect our analysts to be comfortable attacking analytical problems and be capable of doing so with a creative bent. Analysts must have the ability to work well with various technical and analytical teams within the organization to produce meaningful summary analysis and recommendations from such efforts.

Following completion of the program, and with direct mentorship and guidance from senior management, the analysts are expected to select an area of focus where they will continue their professional development and direct their long-term career path at Credigy. Credigy invests in consumer finance related assets. Our disciplined yet adaptable investment strategy focuses on diversification within multiple geographies, numerous asset classes, varying levels of delinquency and flexible transaction types. In everything we do, our success is a result of our dedication to understanding risks and maximizing returns. Credigy is an industry leader with a global presence and we are committed to honoring best practices in all areas of our business. Credigy currently has operations in North America, South America and Europe, with our corporate headquarters located in Norcross, GA – a northeastern suburb of Atlanta.
