International Business Society Lunch & Learn

    • Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 12:30pm1:30pm

Robert E. Hoyt is the Dudley L. Moore, Jr. Chair and Professor of Risk Management and Insurance in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. He teaches corporate risk management and enterprise risk management and serves as the Department Head for Insurance, Legal Studies, and Real Estate.

His research interests are focused in the areas of corporate hedging, enterprise risk management, catastrophe risk management, insurer operations, the economics of insurance fraud, liability system costs and insurer insolvency.

Interestingly enough, Dr. Hoyt is a tuba player, played in the Cornhusker Marching Band, and was president of the Classic City Band. Not surprisingly, his many trips to Germany have given him the opportunity to hear some great tuba players. He earned a minor in German, studied at a Goethe Institute in southern Germany on a DAAD scholarship, and completed a year of study at the University of Cologne on an ITT International Fellowship.
