Her research interests are in the areas of economic development and political economy with a focus on South Asia. Prior to joining the faculty at SPIA in August 2014, Dr. Zimmermann received her PhD in economics from the University of Michigan (2014), an MA in economics from the University of Michigan (2010), and a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) from the University of Oxford (2008).
