    Terry Talks with Mark Travis (AB Econ, ‘84), CEO of Intrepid Capital Management, Inc.

    Join us for a roundtable discussion with Mark Travis, president and CEO of Intrepid Capital Management, Inc. based in Jacksonville, FL. Mark is a co-founder of Intrepid Capital and oversees the investment process at Intrepid Capital Management. He is also the lead portfolio manager of the Intrepid Capital Fund, the separately managed Intrepid Balanced portfolio and the Intrepid Capital, L.P. Mr. Travis is also a member of the investment teams responsible for the Intrepid Small Cap Fund, Intrepid Disciplined Value Fund, Intrepid Income Fund and the Intrepid Small Cap, Intrepid Disciplined Value and Intrepid Income portfolios. He has 30 years of experience in asset management. Mark received his BA degree in Economics from the University of Georgia in 1984 and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Ponte Vedra Rotary Club.     WISE Up: Job & Internship Fair

    The 3rd annual WISE Up: Job & Internship Fair will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 6-8 pm at the Tate Student Center - room 137. Over the past two years, this event has been extremely successful in helping attendees build relationships with employers and secure jobs and internships in the sports and events industry. This year, we are thrilled to announce a great line up of companies visiting Athens, including: Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Falcons, CSE, IMG College, USTA, and the JCI Foundation! 

    The WISE Up: Job & Internship Fair is sponsored by the Women in Sports and Events (WISE) chapter at UGA.  The event will feature a keynote speech from Dr. Vicki Michaelis, former Olympic journalist and current Grady professor, as well as one-on-one networking opportunities with employers.

    Alum of the Day: Dick Ferguson (BBA 1986), Division Director at Raymond James

    Come meet alum Dick Ferguson on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. The Southern Division Director for Raymond James, Mr. Ferguson graduated with a BBA in Finance from the Terry College in 1986. Ferguson has spent his entire professional career at Morgan Keegan/Raymond James, joining the firm’s Atlanta office in 1987. In 1994, he was named the branch manager of the firm’s new office in his hometown of Athens, GA. In 1999, Ferguson was promoted to East regional president overseeing 25 branches and over 500 employees. He was also asked to join the firm’s Executive Committee. Ferguson was named president of Morgan Keegan’s Private Client Group in January 2010. He transitioned to the role of Southern Division Director in 2012 as part of Morgan Keegan’s conversion to Raymond James. Dick is married to his wife of 22 years, Susan, and has twelve year old twins, John and Lucy, and an eighteen year old son, Richard. In his spare time Dick enjoys hunting, playing golf, and chasing his kids. Students can sign up for 30 minute appointments to meet with Mr. Ferguson, ask him career advice, questions about the financial industry, etc. Don't miss out on a great opportunity to hear from a devoted Terry alum who enjoys helping students!
