Big Data: A Perspective on the Future with Rob Bearden

Rob Bearden is the CEO of Hortonworks, which provides commercial support for Apache Hadoop and associated software. Hortonworks is recognized by Forrester Research as the leader in Hadoop. Rob is also the former chief operating officer of both SpringSource and JBoss, two of the most commercially successful open source companies in history. Rob also served in senior roles at Oracle, where he directed a $1 billion sales organization, I2, and Manhattan Associates. He currently sits on the boards of Black Duck and EnterpriseDB, two successful and well-regarded vendors in the open source industry. Rob has a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Jacksonville State University and currently holds the title of Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business.

The workshop series on BIGDATA is hosted by the UGA Department of Computer Science at Franklin College of Arts and Sciences; the Department of Management Information Systems at the Terry College of Business; Georgia Advanced Computing Resource Center (GACRC); The UGA Office of the Vice President for Information Technology, The UGA Franklin College of Arts & Sciences, and the UGA Office of the Vice President for Research.
