Karl Ryker is a VP for International Finance and Accounting for UPS International Small Package and Global Forwarding. He is responsible for planning, costing systems and support, and international accounting for the international business units that generate over $16B in revenues. Karl has worked for UPS for 30 years. He started in Columbia, Missouri working in various operations while attending college at the University of Missouri–Columbia.
Karl has worked in the midnight and am operations, and worked as a package delivery driver. After graduating with a BSBA in Finance, he accepted a position in St. Louis working in the accounting office. This was the first of five relocations for Karl and his family. Over the next 10 years he worked in St. Louis, held various positions in accounting supervising and managing the teams responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, information systems, payroll, and COD's. In 1999, he was promoted to the controller in UPS' South Carolina district.
As a controller, he was responsible for all finance and accounting processes in the UPS district. Three years later, he was moved to our largest domestic district, Metro-Philadelphia. After 20 years working for UPS' domestic operations, he accepted a position in UPS Supply Chains Solutions responsible for Latin America and the southern border operations with Mexico. He traveled throughout Mexico, Central America and South America working to integrate acquisitions and to improve accounting processes, while growing the international business. His family's last move was to corporate headquarters in Atlanta where he is now part of the International Small Package and Global Forwarding team.
