The title of her paper is "Contracting with CEO's to Induce Earlier Disclosure of Bad News: Evidence From Ex-Ante Severance Agreements."     Delta Sigma Pi BOLD Networking Event

    This semester Delta Sigma Pi, Pi Chapter will be hosting our inaugural networking event, BOLD, Building Opportunities for Leadership & Development. The event will serve as a conduit for students and companies to network and mutually benefit.  BOLD will provide hors d'oeuvres and will be set up as a series of short roundtable discussions allowing students of the Terry College of Business the chance to speak with several different companies over the course of the night. Company representatives may use this ​event ​as a platform to recruit or inform Terry students more about their companies, elaborating on the culture and characteristics of the company environment or simply giving insight on what one does on a daily basis and steps students can take to enter into the company.

    Join us for a roundtable discussion with Tony Martin, Martin Financial Group.

    Tony is a Principal at M3 Advisors and Martin Financial Group, LLC. He is primarily responsible for the creation and implementation of our client's strategic plans for both firms. He is a frequent speaker and lecturer who enjoys sharing with a wide variety of audiences.
    Tony primarily focuses on integrating the tax and financial aspects of business organizations and their owners. His experience includes a broad range of tax, trusts and estates and general corporate matters including sophisticated estate planning, closely-held business counseling, business succession planning, the structuring of business entities, joint ventures and the acquisition and sale of business interests. Mr. Martin also counsels individuals and families regarding federal, state, estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax issues, and the development of complex estate plans.

    Tony is a board member of the UGA Terry College of Business Alumni Board, Junior Achievement of Savannah and the Valmark Member Advisory Board.

    Terry Talks with Terry Brown, CEO of Edens

    Terry Brown is chief executive officer of EDENS, one of the nation’s leading private owners, operators, and developers of retail real estate. EDENS is based in Columbia, S.C., with regional headquarters in Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and Miami. Brown, a summa cum laude graduate of UGA’s Terry College of Business, joined EDENS as CEO in 2002. Today, the company is distinguished by the connectivity of its centers to their communities, as well as by its investment grade quality balance sheet and unique corporate culture. Under Brown’s leadership, EDENS has established marketplace leadership positions in sustainability practices, technology, and management training. Brown was previously CEO of Andersen Corporate Finance, where he was responsible for strategy and investment banking activities on a global basis across the real estate, manufacturing, technology, services, and energy industries. Prior to joining Andersen, he was a U.S. Army officer. Brown is a member of the Real Estate Roundtable and the Urban Land Institute. He is a former trustee and executive committee member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, and he is a member of the Liberty Fellowship, a leadership initiative sponsored by the Aspen Institute. Brown serves on the board of directors of the University of Georgia Foundation, Consolidated Systems, and the Opus Corporation. He is also a member of the Palmetto Business Forum. Brown was a 2011 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year regional award winner and a national finalist.

    UGA Career Center presents: Career/Campus Resources for International Students

     This panel event will focus on career topics relevant to international students at UGA, such as understanding visa requirements, how to talk to employers, and career-related resources on campus.
