    ​Charles B. Knapp, President Emeritus of the University of Georgia, served as interim Dean of the Terry College of Business from 2013-14. Director of the Executive Doctorate of Education Program at the Institute for Higher Education, he also serves on the Board of Directors for Aflac, Inc., and as Chairman of the Georgia Charter Schools Commission. Knapp is an economist and educator and has previously held positions as President of the Aspen Institute, Executive Vice President of Tulane University, and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor in the Carter Administration. He received a B.S from Iowa State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

    Terry Talks with Kate Houghton, 360i

    Join us for a roundtable discussion with Kate Houghton, 360i.

    Kate Houghton is a Media Manager at Digital Marketing Agency 360i and is based in Atlanta. Kate is in the Search Engine Marketing department and has worked with clients such as Capital One and Norwegian Cruise Lines. Her role consists of executing and optimizing search campaigns on a variety of platforms including Google, Yahoo, Bing and YouTube to achieve clients' marketing and communications objectives. Since starting her career at 360i, she has managed up to $10 million in monthly budget, trained six employees, and rapped in front of her colleagues.

    At the University of Georgia, Kate majored in International Business and Marketing and minored in French. Kate was a Leonard Leadership Scholar, a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, an Athens-Clarke County Mentor and a Deer Run Fellow. Kate graduated cum laude from the Terry College of Business in May 2012.

    Dress is business casual.

    IB Society UPS Event

    Karl Ryker is a VP for International Finance and Accounting for UPS International Small Package and Global Forwarding. He is responsible for planning, costing systems and support, and international accounting for the international business units that generate over $16B in revenues. After graduating with a BSBA in Finance, he accepted a position in St. Louis working in the accounting office. This was the first of five re-locations for Karl and his family. After 20 years working for UPS' domestic operations, he accepted a position in UPS Supply Chains Solutions responsible for Latin America and the southern border operations with Mexico. He traveled throughout Mexico, Central America and South America working to integrate acquisitions and to improve accounting processes, while growing the international business. Karl’s has earned a BSBA in Finance, an MBA with a focus in Finance and successfully passed the CPA examination.
