Myriam Quispe-Agnoli is a faculty member in the Department of Economics of Terry College of Business in the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. She used to be a research economist and assistant policy adviser in the research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Her fields of specialization are international economics, trade and finance, open macroeconomics, and economic development. Her current research interests include economic impact of immigration, small business financing, unemployment and underemployment, and the impact of financial architecture on community and economic development. Dr. Quispe-Agnoli is also an occasional contributor to the Atlanta Fed's macroblog, which provides commentary on economic topics including monetary policy, macroeconomic developments, and the Southeast economy.

Dr. Quispe-Agnoli has published her research in various journals, including Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, Journal of Regional Science, Southern Economic Journal, American Journal of Public Health and Contemporary Economic Policy. Her research has also appeared in several books. She is a member of the American Economic Association, the Southern Economic Association, the Econometric Society, the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession, Latin American and the Caribbean Economic Association, and the American Society of Hispanic Economists.

Before joining the Atlanta Fed, Dr. Quispe-Agnoli taught at Emory University, Tulane University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the Center for International Development Research at the Terry Stanford Institute of Public Policy at Duke University. She has taught graduate and undergraduate courses on Principles of Economics, Macroeconomics, Economic Development, International Trade and Finance, and Money, Banking, and Financial Institutions. A native of Lima, Peru, Dr. Quispe-Agnoli earned a bachelor's degree in social sciences at Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. She earned her master's degree in economics from Vanderbilt University and her doctorate in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
