David E. McCulloch has been named director of Executive Programs at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.

McCulloch, the former vice president for economic development at Gwinnett Technical College, started at Terry on Jan. 3. In his new role, he leads a staff headquartered in the Terry Executive Education Center, located in the Buckhead financial district of Atlanta.

“The Terry College has an outstanding brand based on the reputation of its faculty, research and academic programs,” he said. “I want to make sure that our executive leadership and professional development offerings augment the college’s academic programs and continue to serve the educational needs of our students and alumni, our supporters, and our business community at large.”

McCulloch has a 25-year history of higher education administration. In his previous role, he provided executive leadership and fiscal oversight for Gwinnett Tech’s growth initiatives, including business partnerships and workforce development, corporate training and professional development.

“We are thrilled to welcome David to our Executive Programs team,” said Terry College Dean Benjamin C. Ayers. “His extensive experience and knowledge will be an asset to our college’s mission of advancing and supporting economic development in the state of Georgia and beyond. He’s already demonstrated a remarkable commitment to higher education and lifelong learning, and I have no doubt that will continue at Terry.”

McCulloch credits his previous roles with teaching him how to succeed at the intersection of business and education.

“Having served as a vice president of economic development, I see my new role at Terry as a natural extension of that experience and a platform to deliver our high-quality executive education to a broader regional and national audience,” he said.

The Office of Executive Programs offers a portfolio of conferences and educational leadership programs designed to meet the needs of businesses and executives. Certificate and non-degree programs are taught by Terry College faculty and industry professionals at the college’s Executive Education Center in Buckhead or at client sites.
