Ashley discussed the Staff Council meeting and reviewed the minutes from the meeting. She highlighted the fact that final interviews were taking place for replacing Andy Brantley's position in Human Resources. There were 3 candidates. The first one liked the new reclassification system, the second wanted to revisit it and no one had heard the results of the 3rd candidates feeling toward reclassification. Ashley reminded us of the STEAM conference to take place on October 14th . She urged all SRG representatives to attend if possible. The last day to register for the $40.00 fee will be September 26th, after that, it will cost $45.00. It will be October 14th with registration beginning at 7:30 am. Sessions will be at 9:45 am and at 11:00 am. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided. Registration forms can be found at www.gactr.uga.edu/conferences/ .

Ashley is serving as the person in charge of the Needs and Concerns committee for the Staff Council. She asked how many people would like to have shared leave for maternity, then asked how many would be interested in shared leave if a spouse were ill. Only 4 people were interested in the shared leave for maternity. There was an overwhelming majority for the ill spouse option.

The Terry College collected 4 boxes and $30.00 for Athens Tutorial Programs.

Martha Dennis, Director of Marketing and Communications, is working on a new website for the Terry College. There is a web advisory board who will help with navigation on the new site. There are several options that will be coming, but one of them will be for people to do their own web site. This will be done by going to http://www.inside.terry.uga.edu. Martha's main reason for coming to the meeting was for the SRG representatives to brainstorm about the current BAPs/SRG site. A committee was formed for this purpose consisting of: Sally Vandiver for SRG, Ashley Young for the Business Office, Ruth Davis for BAPS, Rebecca Brown for New Employees, and Cindy Daniel for Orientation. The new sites will be up by the end of the year.

Ashley reminded people of the 4th quarter nominations for the staff awards and told us that the October meeting will be short as she has a 9:30 obligation. She also said to submit mileage as $.28 until we hear further.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00.
