STAFF REPRESENTATIVE GROUP
August 11,2004

The Terry College of Business Representative Group met Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at am in Brooks Room 327.

Members present: Amanda McKasson (FINA), Cindy Daniel (Office of Undergraduate Admissions), Mary Evans (Selig Center), Billie West (MGMT), Betty Pharr (Dean's Office), Stan Johnson (Logistics), Marsha Dickerson (ACCT), Sheila King (Assoc. Dean for Faculty and Research), Donna Sisk (MBA), Chris Taylor (External Relations), Cindy Owensby (ECON), Regena Pope (OIT), Melissa Turnipseed (Inst. of Leadership), Cynthia Huff (MIST), Connie Autry (MARK), Sally Vandiver (IB), Elizabeth Wiley (Office of Executive Programs), Perry Suzanne Perry (ILA)

Members absent: Marsha Richmond (ILSRE) The meeting was called to order by Betty Baskins. The minutes were not available from the previous meeting, but Sallysaid she would have them put on the web.

Betty discussed the Staff Council meeting, specifically the issues that Sige Burden of HR brought up. Sige spoke on changes that are forthcoming from the Department of Labor that UGA employees. He explained that the non-exempt employees who work more than 40 hours a week would have to be paid overtime pay. Further information will be given after the finalization with DOL in September.

Sheils King discussed the options for a Staff Representative breakfast that the Holiday Inn offered. The cost was more than lunch would be, so it was decided the September meeting be a lunch and Betty would ask Dr.Gustavson if the Dean would support SRG by paying the lunch. The meeting will be September 8, in 327 Brooks at 12:00.

Betty discussed the payroll check distribution. If someone in your office refuses epay, the office representative need to put payroll (100) as the distribution code. The person who picks up the check will have to be on the distribution list and will have 30 days to pick up their stub at payroll before it is destroyed.

There was discussion about parking and the fact that people in W04 were asked not to park in lot on Thursday and Friday so students could move in. There was also discussion that the fraternity nearby is towing people who park illegally.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:45 am.
