SRG Minutes 5/8/02

• Stan has not meet with Dr. Gustavson yet about items from the last meeting
• Gifts for staff members with longevity - some staff would like to see the gifts change
  • Awards reception - attendance by staff members was higher than last time
  • morning reception better than afternoon
  • room set up - did not like the fact that the Dean had his back to some people, change the set up of the room and have the Dean in a corner so that everyone can see him

• Elections for new SRC rep from Terry

  Nominees are:

  Ruth David

  Sally Vandiver

  Beth Williams

• Elections will take place when Elizabeth returns
• elections will be done by secret ballet but nominees can be submitted via email

• There was an email sent out by a faculty member that stated that some parking preferences have been changed from staff to faculty priority. No one has seen an email from Parking Services confirming this so we do not feel like the faculty member was correct, expecially since we have already started submitting requests for next year's parking

A logo was submitted by Ruth Davis, which is for BAPS; we are looking for one for SRG. We will submit the one that Ruth suggested to Chris Taylor and ask that he change it to reflect SRG, specifically, the Terry SRG.

• BAPS should be totally removed from the SRG bylaws, except to explain how the SRG was formed.
• SRG shouls have a separate website from BAPS as well
• We need to check with Brad and OIT to make sure that they can update the SRG website after Elizabeth retires.
• Suggested Changes to the bylaws:
  1. State that any major decisions or points of interest regarding changes to College policies or procedures will be taken to the dean and will be reported to all staff.
  2. Annual meeting with all staff members and the dean to be held once a year
  3. SRG information should come first in the bylaws and then lead in the the SRC information
  4. Make changes/corrections to the College unit names

• The van is not a vehicle for College-wide use
• A vendor is the owner and Ellen is supposed to check with Charlie Squires to make sure that the correct parking permits are being paid for.
