The Terry College of Business Staff Representative Group met Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at 8:30 am in Brooks Hall, Room 327.
Members present: Stan Johnson (Logistics), Mary Myrick (Business Office), Cindy Daniel (Office of Undergraduate Admissions), Cindy Owensby (ECON), Ann Terka (MBA), Mary Evans (Selig Center), Marsha Dickerson (ACCT), Billie West (MGMT), Regina Pope (OIT)
Members absent: Ellen Whitaker (External Relations), Amy Moon (Executive Education), Brenda Graham (Institute of Leadership), Connie Autry (MARK), Sebrena Braswell (MIST), Betty Pharr (Dean’s Office), Amanda McKasson (FINA), Marsha Richmond (ILSRE)
The meeting was called to order by Sally Vandiver. There were no corrections or additions to the minutes from the previous meeting.
Sally gave a report of the Staff Council meeting. Because of lack of funding, most issues have been put on hold. A question about the status of the university-wide pay and classification survey was brought up. Although the survey has been completed, the results have not been presented to the Staff Council because there are no funds available to fix any of the problems that might have been found.
Dr. Gustavson was not able to work on the staff award issue presented in February due to budget reviews. Sally said she would check with her and report back to the committee.
BAPS has said that the money allocated them for this year’s activities will not totally cover the salad luncheon, so the BAPS members are making salads to supplement what the budget will not cover. A suggestion was made to ask staff to contribute $1.00 for the luncheon this time to cover the costs of the BAPS committee. Sally and Sherry will work on the BAPS budget for next year to try to ask for a bit more.
Billie West mentioned that it will be possible to buy “airtime” towards retirement when a staff member has accumulated 25 years. Questions were asked about the possible tuition increase for the students in the Terry College and what the additional money will go toward. Stan said that Logistics will be getting new copiers. When meeting with the next Needs and Concerns committee, Mary asked for Sally to bring up the possibility of having annual leave transfer into a retirement account rather than loose it when 45 days are accumulated.
