Four items were on the agenda for discussion:
1. Does Terry have a morale problem?
Since there was no discussion, it's assumed that we do not have a morale problem
2. We've had a hard time getting people to serve on the committee. Do we want the BAPS Committee continue?
Staff wants to continue to have BAPS
Participation will be voluntary rather than per election
The BAPS Committee will request support from the general staff in coordinating and implementing events
There should be more interaction between faculty and staff at social events
The current BAPS Committee is charged with formulating the new guidelines and recruiting members
3. Should BAPS request a budget?
Yes, the current BAPS Committee will generate a proposal to present to the Dean.
4. Do we want staff monetary awards recognitions?
Yes. We do want to initiate monetary recognition for staff excellence
A committee was formed with David Robinson (Econ), Ruth Davis (Mgmt), David Dodson (Communications), Beth Williams (Dean's Office) , and Audrey Matz (Dean's Office) to investigate staff awards on campus and to develop nomination and evaluation criteria. Also, to investigate whether awards can be included with faculty and alumni awards events.
