The meeting was called to order by Sally Vandiver. There were corrections or additions to the minutes from the previous meeting.
Sally gave a report of the Staff Council meeting, but said she couldn't hear anything, so there was really nothing to report. The only thing that she heard was something about parking for the Ramsey Center which she will relay as soon as she gets information about it.
The BAPS committee was represented and said that they would be having a Valentine's Day party, an Easter party on April 17th (this is new since the meeting), and a salad luncheon on Herty Field like last year.
The issue of staff awards was presented and while there were those who thought the 5 year awards took away from the other awards, we polled each person and the majority of staff members wanted service awards given for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years of service within the Terry College. Suggestions were given for appropriate awards which follows:
5 year award: a matted, framed certificate (about ½ the size of the certificate awarded for the current 10 years of service plague currently given) The certificate can be made up in-house and can be given alone, or with the frame and/or mat. The staff did not want this to take away from the larger awards, but wanted some form of recognition. Perhaps standing for recognition and receiving the certificates at the end of the ceremony would be appropriate.

10 year award: the current plaque that is awarded Cost: (don't have yet)
15 year award: paperweight (previously, this was given for 20 years along with another certificate). The thought was to either give the current paperweight along with a gift certificate to a restaurant or to the Terry Store, or to upgrade the paperweight. We felt it took away from the 10 year certificate if we just awarded another one just like the 10 year one for 20 years of service, so we could spend that money upgrading the paperweight.

· Current paperweight:
· Etched paperweight, 24% leaded crystal:
· Crystal box: round with Terry logo and years of service on front:
· Rectangle with Terry logo and years of service on front:
· Paperweight similar to the one that is currently given, but a pewter plate on front with raised lettering:
20 year award: Framed print of the Terry College. There are several options for this.
Costs: (don't have yet)
· Certificate in frame with picture of Terry College above the certificate:
· Framed print of the Terry College by ____________:
· Framed black and white print of the Terry College by ______________:
· Unique picture of Terry College with years of service displayed in mat or plate on frame:
The one drawback of choosing a print that can be bought is that anyone can buy one. We would like for this to be something no one else can have unless they have 20 years of service at the Terry College.
25 year award: The chair that is currently given. Cost: (don't have yet)
30 year award: There are several ideas for this one. One option is to have a gift book that the person can pick the item they want out of the following, or we could just choose one of the items: (don't have yet)
Costs:
· Bookends:
· Watch:
· Nice pen or pen set:
· A lapel pin with a diamond or ruby (for Terry red) in it:
· Mantel clock:
When complete, Sally will present the list to Dr. Gustavson to review with Dean Benson.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:15.
